The bagel and cream cheese was great, the chicken fried steak was phenomenal. Great portions at a great price. And amazing service. I definitely recommend if you're staying in Sedona!!
Charming breakfast w outstanding Huevos Rancheros!! And their Bloody Mary's!! To die for!!
Visited this place that was very close to our accommodations after seeing the signage stating they are the "Best breakfast in Sedona". I ordered the buttermilk pancakes which came with two but were large. They were delicious & I also got a side of bacon which was cooked to perfection - I like my bacon crispy. Service was quick & the interior was decorated with a desert motif which was gorgeous to look at.
The food is always good and freshly prepared at reasonable prices. Especially reasonable compared to other places in Sedona.
My husband and I really like this place for breakfast, especially after experiencing The Coffee Pot restaurant. There is no trouble finding parking here. Yay. The wait staff is friendly and attentive here. Yay. The food is hot and good here. Yay. The coffee is hot and good here. Yay. We picked this place for breakfast after a mediocre breakfast from the Coffee pot the day before and had a wonderful breakfast. The next day for breakfast we went more to the central sedona area to another breakfast place, no problem with parking but we were underwelmed. So then the next day we went back to Cafe Jose and had another good, solid breakfast.
I love a good diner with a booth situation where you can see what's happening in the kitchen. As soon as I walked in I could immediately tell this is where the locals eat and I was not at all disappointed. I had the basic breakfast (2 eggs & home fries) with French toast to substitute the toast. The breakfast was so delicious and filling and everything was cooked perfectly. This is a really great place for a filling meal before getting out to see the sights of Sedona. There were only a few patrons when I arrived so service was excellent and very prompt.
The good: Service for our big group of 12 was flawless. Orders came out quickly and efficiently. Also, the prices are excellent, for pricey Sedona or anywhere. You can get a margarita for seven dollars, nothing wrong with that. And our server was happy to take a picture of our group against the cactus mural on the wall. However, this is definitely not the best Mexican food in Sedona as a local promised (I've only tried Tortas del Fuego in addition but that was better) and it really isn't a Mexican restaurant at all. Yes, you can get a lot of Mexican food but there are also a lot of American standbys, eg meat loaf. I always order the chile relleno combo plat when it is ordered. In mine the chile had not been roasted before prep which gave it a crunch I didn't expect or enjoy. Rice and beans were quotidian. Also the lighting is quite bright; don't make the place where you pop the question on a romantic date. Overall I was happy with the experience and would return if I were a local. But would order from the American menu.
Popped in for a weekday breakfast with a buddy. Had the Huevos Garcia to try something different. Loved the grilled onions and bell pepper twist on this classic dish. Huge serving, overall great taste. The availability of a bunch of hot sauces always makes me happy. The crispy potatoes were spot on. Place wasn't very crowded which I thought was odd because the food was really good. By buddy was digging his breakfast sandwich too.
